The Family Neuro Health Centre
by
Dr Neil Beck
I commenced the Nedlands Health Centre in 1982 as a Family Medical Practice. In 1997 I set out to find better solutions for Perth’s epidemic of Drug Problems and discovered that Drug and Alcohol Problems are always the result of Mental Health Problems.
I also found that the Drug and Alcohol Problems couldn’t be permanently fixed without diagnosing and fixing the Underlying Mental Health Issues in each case. Relapses occur unless people become more Mentally Healthy. I then developed The Beck Mini DISCOMFORTS/ DYSFUNCTIONS Checklists so that I could effectively cope with the large numbers of people who came to the Centre. We just couldn’t cope using the traditional consultations which are often rather vague and poorly focused and too time consuming.
For 5 years I had my own addiction clinic, The Chemical Health Centre and the Family Medical Practice was then renamed The Family NeuroHealth Centre because at the Family Neuro Health Centre we aimed to prevent drug addiction and damage. We did this by diagnosing and fixing the serious Mental Health issues of children, teenagers, adults and families before self medication with street drugs and alcohol developed or became serious.
I also developed fast, pain-free, low cost methods of treating addictions without the hassle of dangerous, difficult to get, Authority Controlled and Expensive Medicines. We can now get addicts off Heroin and Alcohol very quickly and easily with a $20 oral spray, Mini Doses of Naltrexone, and other readily available nonaddicting, safe S4 medications. However Comprehensive Diagnosis and Holistic Treatment of all the DISCOMFORTS/DYSFUNCTIONS using the DDC is always needed or relapse will probably occur.
We are now looking for suitable Doctors to join us and grow the Family NeuroHealth Centre. Our systems are good enough that Doctors with no previous experience can quickly learn to do this work but they must have the right motivation, character and personality to do it well.
